Meet Thelma, Tooth Fairy and like no fairy you ever met. Meet Zoe, a curious and delightful kid. And how did Thelma and Zoe meet? Well, it’s a long story, but if you want to know, read Thelma Makes a Visit. Although Zoe never saw Thelma, her grandma did and described Thelma to Zoe, who had never seen a fairy like the one Grandma described. Through a series of notes and emails, Zoe gets to know Thelma who turns out to be more than a tooth fairy. Thelma shares her adventures with Zoe in How Thelma Got Her Wings.

Reading need not be a solitary act. Reading with a family member can bring the text to life as the readers stop to predict, question, and comment on the text. This shared activity makes reading a much richer experience.
In How Thelma Got Her Wings, a new feature has been added: Growing Your Vocabulary: words that might not be familiar to the young reader will be italicized and highlighted. Children are challenged to use the context to figure out what these words mean. This is a skill that will build reading comprehension while adding a twist to a great story.
